I too am receiving continuous requests for verification codes on my yahoo account. I can't think of any way to stop it.
Yahoo has just changed me over to a localised account which may be causing a conflict?
I'm going to have to uninstall it temporarily which is a shame because its a great addon!
Hopefully this can be resolved soon!

Looks like going to http://mail.yahoo.com/ when I hit "Open Yahoo" doesn't work anymore. Check it out. In the meantime, I'll see if I can figure-out a way to write a User Script to work around this obstacle to get, what I think is a great extension, working again.

새버전 업데이트 했는데.. 네이버 메일쪽에 문제가 있는거 같아요.. 직접 네이버 열기 눌르는거 밖에 안되고 보통은 네이버만 확인을못하네요(다음, 네이버, 지메일, 네이트 이렇게만 써요). 원래 사이트 들어가면 되던 자동로그인도 안되구요.

I got the same problem with Yahoo mail account. The funny thing is i only get it on one of the 2 accounts i have at yahoo!!!! It's a pitty cause this is by far the handiest add-on for firefox i have used so far!! I can only hope the developers to be able to go around whatever it is that yahoo has done and give us a new update.

After the last couple of updates, webmail notifier doesn't work well with labels. I have some filters where I archive the messages, and label them instead. Earlier, webmail notifier would tell me when these mail arrived. Now it only notifies me about the mail that arrive in the inbox. I miss the old feature, can you please get it back?

Yes, I'm talking about gmail (sorry, forgot to mention that). I know you can see all your unread emails, but I usually keep a lot of unread emails, and I don't want to be notified about them. I only want to be notified when I get a new email that is being labeled and archived. This worked beautifully in the earlier versions, but has been changed in the last few updates. It is making this extension much less useful for me, which is a shame as I've loved it up until now.... :'(

So is there any way I can change it back on my own? I'm guessing that's what's my 'problem' is.

I can't select what account I want webmail notifier to check emails from, the drop down bar is greyed out, also the "ok" and "cancel" buttons do not work under webmail preferences. Is there anything I can do to fix this?

Has anyone developed a user script for lycos.com email?

Yesterday I upgraded to Firefox 3.0 and was on Webmail 1.1.4 before the upgrade everything was working fine. When the upgrade on Firefox finished it wanted to check for updates to the addons and it installed Webmail 1.1.5. Since then, all of my accounts are missing.

When I do about:config however the accounts are still listed in that screen but they are not loading into the WebMail preferences or running.

Is this a known problem or is there a way to fix it. I would prefer to fix it rather than to reload all of the accounts because I use it to monitor about 20 personal and business accounts. (I have not cleared my passwords as commented above).

I have been using webmail notifier add on, and it worked just fine until yesterday. After upgrade Webmail notifier 1.1.5, however, it shows "hotmail: not checked" in red on the icon and "No new mail" in gray.
I don't know why it happened, is this a bug? I could manually check new e-mail on my hotmail.com account on http://by119w.bay119.mail.live.com/mail/InboxLight.aspx, but the add-on doesn't notify me the arrival of unread e-mail. In addition to this, when I click on "Open hotmail", it goes to Sign In web page (http://login.live.com/). I hope you can provide me a solution. Thanks in advance.

I would like to inform you that webmail notifier works again after upgrading to firefox 3.0.1 couple minutes ago. However, Webmail accounts were completely void, therefore, I had to newly add Host: Hotmail, Username: *** without @hotmail.com. My problem was finally solved somehow, I don't know why.

It would be really nice if user scripts could optionally provide the notifier with the author and subject of the most recent new message, and have the notifier display that in the little popup that appears. Currently, users must open webmail for each time they are notified to see what the message is about. This is distracting and often unnecessary if the message is not important.

By showing the author and subject of a message in the notifier, you would allow user scripts to save users a lot of unnecessary interruptions.

나는 왜 파란메일이 안되는 걸까? 그동안 잘사용해 왔는데 어느날부터 안되네요
스크립트를 설치해서 메일확인을 하면 그까지는 되는데 파이어폭스의 전체 창을 닫았다가 다시 열면 파란계정만 없어지네요.(파란게정만 저장이 안된다는 말입니다)....에구 뭐가 문제인지 3일동안 문제점 찾고 있는데 뭐가 문제인지 모르겠네요. 고수님들 도와주세요.

참고로 제가 설치한 방법은

1.상단의 수정한 스크립트파일을 메모장에 복사했습니다.(파일명:paran.js 라고 적음)

2.웹메일/설정/스크립트사용자(아무것도 없음)/paran.js를 추가/확인

3.파란선택하고 아이디@paran.com 하고 확인
...여기까지하면 잘됩니다.

4. 문제는 파이어폭스의 전체 창을 닫고 다시 파이어폭스의 창을 열면 파란계정이 없어져 있어요

고수님들의 도움 부탁드립니다.

스크립트 파일 이름이 paran.js.txt 로 되어 있어서 그랬습니다.
paran.js.txt을 paran.js로 고치니까 됩니다.

one GMXFree and one GMXProMail.

GMXFree works with gmx.js perfect ;-)

The GMXProMail use IMAP.

Login works fine, but I get allways the notice,
that the account isn't checked.

지난 10월말 부터 파란메일이 확인이 안되어 원인을 찾다가 결국 script를 수정하여 해결하였습니다.
제가 수정한 script는 line 11의 handler.mailURL 입니다. 즉,

기존 : handler.mailURL="http://mail.paran.com/";
수정 : handler.mailURL="http://mail39.paran.com/";
입니다. 안되시는 분이 계시면 시도 해 보시는것도 좋을것 같습니다.

script를 수정후 웹메일 알림이의 Paran 계정을 삭제후 다시 등록해 주셔야 합니다.

제작자님 고맙습니다.
저도 로그인이 않됐는데 김현주님꼐서 올려주신 팁데로 하니깐 잘 됩니다.

Sorry, the script does not work. It does not check the account, and it always returns "No new messages" and "Not checked". Maybe Libero has changed its webmail. I also think that the correct regular expression is
"match(/(\d+) messagg(i|o) non lett(i|o)/);"
to handle both singular and plural.

WEb Notifier no longer working with Yahoo! Mail's new signin front page. They are switching to interactive signin page with all kind of junk. Please update WebMail Notifier for FireFox to work with new version of Yahoo! mail which is being forced on us. We have no choice. Webmail Notifier is the handiest app out there!

Is there s script already for SqWebMail or Squirrelmail?

I think this is the best mail checker plugin Ive ever used
Only problem is I can't check my aol webmail.
Im not able to write it myself so can anyone please write a script for aol?

UPDATE - Never mind. I figured out the solution.

I have an odd problem. I have lost the password to my Yahoo account, and the only place I have it saved is in Webmail Notifier. Yahoo is not helping me reset it. Where does Webmail Notifier store the user passwords? In which file? And can I extract it from there? Thanks.

Can you add POP3 support please?

Firefox updated webmailer notifier..now it does NOT work! will not check any email addresses. I have to manually click it but it wont show any mail I deleted it and reinstalled..still nothing

Ever since I upgraded to Firefox 3.5, webmail notifier's autologin no longer works. The add-on still alerts me when I have new email, but when I double click on the icon or open it via right clicking, I am required to manually login using my username/password for both Yahoo Mail and Gmail. Please re-enable "auto login" somehow. Thanks!

New problem: suddenly, there are a lot of entries named "Open webmailundefined" in my list (when I right click in browser status bar). I tried uninstalling and reinstalling, but it still shows up. See the picture on http://yfrog.com/45webmailscrewupp

script poczta.o2.pl does not work properly, WebMail Notifier says "poczta.o2.pl: not checked", but when i click to "open poczta.o2.pl", it opens right inbox, im loged in. what is wrong? i dont understand how to write scripts...

First of all; very nice work on the Mail Notifier! I've been enjoying it for quite some time now and I must say, it's one of the few really usefull Firefox Add-ons.

But, I've found a new problem recently which might be caused by the mail notifier application or by IE-tab.
Whenever I try to send a mail with my Microsoft Outlook Web Acces-email an error comes up. It tells me there have been errors in a script.
The reason I think this has something to with either IE-tab ór Mail Notifier, is because I uninstalled my firefox. Reinstalled it. Tried sending a mail; no problems there. Then I installed IE-tab. tried sending an email again; no problems there. Finally I installed Mail notifier; tried it again; and BAM my error is back.
I realise this might be a problem of two addons working together, but maybe you could take a look at it :-)
It would be a shame if I had to unistall either of the applications just because of minor Bug :(

I hope you will find time and still have energy to put some effort into a great application!

I use Webmail 1.5.5 on Debian but so far, I have never gotten it to work with my Yahoo email account. Always says "Not Checked" in red. Has Yahoo changed something. FYI, I am using the new version of the Yahoo email system. Does that make any difference? This extension has always worked for me before and I really like it and appreciate your work on this project.

Please note - WebMailNotifier may have been breached - Two of my gmail accounts were used by
cn-world.com for spam, I did not use my gmail pass anywhere else.

Please include an option to export WMN settings (accounts, scripts) so as to migrate to, transfer to or synchronise with another computer. Great tool, thank you!

I see that you are Korean but also that your English is pretty good, so I hope you can understand what I say below about my difficulties in writing a script that worked:

My first problem was that looking at the source code of this CJB.net mail service login page, I saw that 6 variables PLUS the 'user' & 'passwd' were required to be submitted at login, yet for some reason, even though I added them to my script in the 'handler.loginData' line in this fashion: .."passwd","user","folder="+encodeURIComponent("INBOX"),"action="+encodeURIComponent("login")... , the script failed and ONLY 3 items got submitted (user+passwd+1 other). All of the other items were LOST!!! I discovered this by using the Firefox extension 'Tamper Data' (<-a very handy tool!!)

I tried everything I could think of to get it to work, but after a few hours, gave up and started working on the 'mailURL' link instead, but that was not easy either. My script kept not appear in the drop-down list of installed mail services, and I soon realized this is because something in my script was somehow malformed.

Again, after a few hours of trying different methods, I was about to give up, but remembered that 'Tamper Data' had showed me a long string of POSTDATA when I submitted the webpage login form - and I realized I could add this to my URL-root and paste it in my browser's URL-bar to successfully load the Inbox page. BUT, the POSTDATA text included my username & password. I of course wanted MailNotifier to fill-in the "user" & "passwd" fields as needed. But it seemed the 'handler.mailURL' would NOT accept me adding "user" or "passwd" after the URL with either a "+" or "," to join them, as was done in the 'loginData' line above it. I then had a great idea -- if I put the POSTDATA string into a new variable("var postData") and set my 'loginData' to include the URL+postData variable, I could then point to it(the 'handler.loginData') for my 'mailURL' line.

SUCCESS!

- Why though was I limited to 3 items in my loginData (user,pass,1 other)?? Is that a Bug, or by design?
- Why does the 'mailURL' not allow -- "http://www.someurl.com/action.php?folder="+encodeURIComponent("INBOX").. --? or -- "..?user="+user+"pass="+passwd ??

- And why does the URL produced by my 'mailURL' have a comma in it after the ".php?" (ex: http://webmail.cjb.net/action.php?,folder=INBOX&action=login&d..." -- I don't see where it is coming from, why is it appearing? I tried and tried to work around this, but did not have any luck. Fortunately, in this case the comma does not break anything (Inbox still loads ok) but it seems odd that it is there, and that the "user" and "passwd" always appear at the END of the URL. If I change the order, the whole thing breaks.

If you'd like to take a look for yourself, I set up a test account for you:

du musst einfach das script kopieren und im editor als text einfügen. dann als .txt abspeichern und bei einstellungen auf user script klicken. dort kannst du es einlesen, dann ok klicken... in der liste kannst du dann auf web.de klicken, username und PW eingeben und fertig
